Investing in Enterprise is a 3-year programme designed to take a proactive approach to supporting the formation and development of new social enterprises from existing, established organisations in Lowland Scotland in order to grow revenue and create jobs within the sector. Its core activities focus on identifying and matching potentially sustainable market opportunities with sustainable social enterprises, and supporting them in the development of these new opportunities.
Projections from the first two years of programme delivery are for the creation of 18 enterprises, £7.7m revenue growth and 165 jobs.
In 2011 the programme is being delivered primarily in Glasgow, Inverclyde and North Ayrshire with CEiS development and consultancy activities part-funded by public sector partners.
Enquiries are invited from established organisations interested in new social enterprise development, and from prospective funding partners interested in growing the sector in their geographic or thematic area.
